DESCRIPTION:
Youngstown State University has a 55 kW solar PV system on the flat roof of Moser Hall (tour accessible). The system utilizes a racking system from Youngstown-based Northern States Metals. Wind tunnel testing for the racking system was conducted at YSU. In addition to the solar PV system, YSU also has invested in energy efficiency by the means of sophisticated building control systems. They also have an electric car.
Incentive Program(s) Utilized:
Solar PV system was provided to YSU without upfront cost by PPA provider Carbon Vision, LLC. Carbon Vision utilized the ODOD Advanced Energy Fund and the Federal 1603 cash grant.
Directions to Site:
Moser Hall is located on Lincoln Ave. between Cushwa Hall and Ward Beecher Hall. There will be signs directing tour visitors where to go once they reach Moser Hall.
