Green Energy Ohio offers a statewide wind resource assessment program to interested Ohio businesses, industries, municipalities, and other entities to determine the feasibility of using wind power to generate electricity. Click here for a list of past monitoring sites. For more information, contact Emily Sautter (Emily@greenenergyohio.org or 216-789-5248).

Green Energy Ohio also performs wind resource assessments funded by grants from organizations such as the Ohio Department of Development, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Lake Erie Commission, and others.

Public Wind Database - Wind Monitoring Reports & Data Sets Available!

GEO currently maintains Ohio's only public wind database for utility scale wind development. The majority of GEO's wind data have been given to NREL to verify Ohio's wind resource maps. Based on increasing demand for these data, as well as GEO summary reports for the various wind assessment sites, GEO is now offering these data and/or reports for a small processing fee. Click here for additional information. Click here to download GEO's Wind Data Request Form.
