Green Energy Ohio Tour Week - October 1 through 7
Over 170 sites Across 49 Counties
Green Energy Ohio, the non-profit renewable energy advocate, will showcase renewable energy and green design in events throughout local areas from Monday, October 1, through Sunday, October 7. Tour sites include public locations such as parks and schools, businesses and private homes. The Tour is free to the public during designated times which are posted at: www.greenenergyohio.org. Visitors can choose from local sites and create a tour that is convenient to their personal schedules. Many guided tours are also available.
Over 170 open house sites in more than 100 communities in 49 counties across the state have registered in the longest tour event ever.
GEO Executive Director Bill Spratley said: “The GEO Tour Week shows the solar, wind, biomass and energy efficiency systems at work every day to provide a cleaner environment and new green jobs. We invite Ohioans to visit these green energy sites to see how they can begin adopting sustainable energy for their home, business and community.”
“We have 200 businesses participating,” Spratley said. “There are 50 installers,
69 manufacturers, 35 local firms and 45 businesses open as tour sites. In addition, there are 89 homes and 40 community spaces tour sites on this year’s tour that offer 342 Open House times at the 174 sites through-out the week.
The Ohio Development Services Agency (formerly ODOD) is the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Tour along with Premier Sponsor Zane State College and Featured Tour Sponsors across the state.
The GEO Tour Week is the Ohio non-profit’s 10th annual Fall tour as part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.

The page you are directed to will provide details as to how you can create your own ‘self-guided tour’ or select from one of the guided tours. Once directed to the Search Page, you will be able to build your own ‘self-guided tour’ by selecting from a list of criteria including location, date and time, type of building as well as the type of technology. Using Google Maps, you can print a map, directions and even a brief description of each site.
