Overview: On Saturday October 1st, the Cincinnati Ohio Solar Tour features a morning seminar on clean energy information and applications in Southwest Ohio followed by two afternoon tours to passive solar homes and green buildings at the University of Cincinnati. The seminar is held at EarthConnection at Mount Saint Joeseph's College (370 Neeb Rd, Delhi, OH) from 10 am - Noon. Lunch and tour of this passive designed building incorporating solar thermal and solar electric technologies are included.

- Tour Option 1 - Passive Solar Homes. 1 - 4 pm
- Tour Option 2 - Green Buildings at Uinversity of Cincinnati. 1 - 5 pm.

All simultaneous tours cost $5, and the 84-page Ohio Solar Tour Guidebook serves as your ticket for entry on any tour of your choice. The guidebook includes information on 21 organized tours conducted in the state and articles on clean energy alternatives. You can purchase your copy of the guidebook by the following methods:

How To Take the Tour: Once you get a copy of the 84-page Ohio Solar Tour Guidebook, you can read about all 21 tours conducted in the Buckeye State, including the tours scheduled in Cincinnati Ohio. Each tour is featured with a description, photos, tour times, and directions. Some tours feature guided transportation, but you can use your own vehicle on any tour of your choice. Carpooling is encouraged.

Cincinnati Clean Energy Seminar. At EarthConnection (370 Need Road, Delhi, OH) beginning at 10 am, a clean energy seminar will highlight the options for clean, renewable energy in and around the Cincinnati area, provide an overview of the technologies available to home or business owners, and describe the financial incentives available for clean energy such as the new federal tax credit for solar.

Tour Option 1 - Passive Solar Homes. After departing from EarthConnection at 1pm, a guided tour will travel to two local homes that use passive solar to reduce their energy needs. Meet these homeowners and learn about thier experience first hand with a tour of their home.

After departing from EarthConnection, a guided tour will travel to the Univeristy of Cinncinnati campus. Architect, Joel Stout, will lead the walking tour to nine green buildings pursuing LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. Three of the buildings are complete with another nearing its completion date, in time for the Ohio Solar Tour. |
