September 18, 2004

Over 100 participants learned about renewable energy and energy efficiency in Southeast Ohio, and the State of Ohio Incentives available for efficiency and installing renewable energy systems.  Torrential rains and flooding from hurricane Ivan did not dampen the enthusiasm for this sunny, crisp day at GEO's first ever event in the Athens area. GEO members are working to organize and on-going monthly meeting to organize more educational efforts on clean energy in Southeast Ohio. Contact GEO for more information. The workshop was held at the annual Ohio Paw Paw festival, where GEO joined pawpaw fanatics from around the country at the peak of the season for a day filled with pawpaws, pawpaw foods, pawpaw beer, pawpaw music, pawpaw art, pawpaw history, pawpaw trees, pawpaw people and much more.
