Session 4

The Microgrid Development Process

Now that we understand the technology, how does it all come together during the development process? During this one hour session we will talk about the various phases of deploying a microgrid.

These include:

  • Current state assessment: Reviewing energy use, facilities, capacity, fleets, and more

  • Feasibility study: Determining what is possible using every potential - and most affordable - technology

  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction: Designing, financing, purchasing, and putting it all together

  • Operations and Maintenance: Turning on your new microgrid, assessing how well it works, and keeping it running for 30+ years
